Ben and Jesse
Ben and Jesse are professional triathletes. We have been friends since 2008 when we met in Durango, CO. Now Ben goes between Boulder, CO and Tucson, AZ. Jesse is based out of Tucson. We love training together, especially on epic training adventures. We developed the idea for Top Step Training over a series of long rides and runs. We share similar training philosophies and work well together. Our combined knowledge will help us to provide high performance coaching to athletes trying to achieve their personal top step.

Ben Hoffman is a professional triathlete originally from Grand Junction, Colorado. He was first exposed to the sport at the University of Montana in Missoula and he quickly rose to the top of the ranks at the collegiate level. Since then He has moved on to train in Boulder, Colorado, and Tucson, Arizona, two of the fitness meccas of the U.S. There he has great swimmers, bikers, and runners to push him to the limits in each of the three triathlon disciplines. Since turning professional in 2007,he has earned Ironman, Half-Ironman, and National Champion victories. He is working towards a Ironman world championship someday. His passion for the sport drives him physically and mentally. He has always been interested in the most effective training and racing techniques. Over his years of racing at the highest level he has gained great insight into training in order to perform at your peak. He is excited to share this with athletes at Top Step Training!

Jesse has been racing professionally for six years. His career highlights include a Ironman PR of 8:27, a 7th place in 2017 at Ironman Arizona, and a half Ironman pr of 4:05 at 2016 Eagleman for 5th place. He has been coaching athletes for the past seven years. Besides coaching triathletes he has coached high school cross country and track as well as club swimming. He is currently a USAT certified coach. Jesse has been teaching for 10 years, and has a Master’s Degree in Education. He hopes to redirect his passion for education into educating athletes in triathlon.
